Ultracentrifuge

Ultracentrifuge

A special type of centrifuge optimized for spinning a rotor at very high speeds, capable of generating acceleration as high as 1,000,000 xg. It is used to separate very small particles that cannot be separated using standard centrifuges.

Ultracentrifugation relies on the principle of sedimentation, accelerated by generating intense centrifugal forces to separate particles based on size and density. This is carried out in a vaccum controlled cooling chamber to maintain sample integrity.

Ultracentrifugation can be used to separate nanoparticles, viruses, proteins, and DNA.
